Dr. Aneska Peters - Dentist
After 11 years in the UK, I returned to South Africa with extensive experience in general dentistry. I gained knowledge at courses from leading clinicians in Europe and studied at the University College London in Aesthetic Dentistry. In Cambridge I worked in a large practice with several other dentist and then ventured to have my own multidisciplinary practice working alongside specialists. I am committed to continued professional development and keeping up with the latest technologies.
I strive to deliver quality dentistry in a gentle way, making each patient feel relaxed and valued. Being a dentist is not my occupation, but my calling.
As a mother of four, I embrace working with children and understand how challenging a dental visit can be for a parent and child.
I have a passion for people and like to volunteer in the community. All my extra time is spent with my family and raising our children. We love spending time painting, gardening, swimming and generally being outdoors.
I am privileged to join the team at DinoDent and am looking forward to many years serving the community in Somerset West.
Dr Marietjie Weakley
I am Dr Marietjie Weakley, a dentist with an unwavering commitment to creating a positive impact in dentistry, particularly in the lives of children. My journey began in 1989 when I completed my Dentistry degree – I have remained in private practice ever since.
My ambitions have always stretched far beyond my practice, aiming to influence dentistry on a global scale. I have actively taken on various roles, each with a deep sense of purpose. I had the privilege of serving on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry (IAPD) from 2019 to 2023.
I am profoundly thankful for the opportunity to have presented and won the bid for the IAPD International Congress, planned for 2025, in Cape Town. This will be the very first time this event will be hosted on the African Continent! I am humbled by the role I hold as Chairperson for this distinguished gathering.
My involvement also extends to leadership within local dental associations. As the Immediate Past President of the South African Association of Pediatric Dentistry (SAAPD), I am grateful for the chance to contribute. Within the South African Dental Association (SADA), my roles have included President of the Gauteng South Branch and National Council member. I was humbled to receive SADA's recognition through the Meritorious Service Award in 2020.
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic challenges, I played a part in developing the "DENTAL PROTOCOL IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19 Epidemic - South African Practice Perspective". Our team each received a Special Service Excellence Award from SADA.
My ongoing pursuit to establish Pediatric Dentistry as a recognized specialty is nearing fruition. Commencing in 2018 in collaboration with dental schools, this endeavour was acknowledged by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) and the Higher Education Department in November 2022.
Meet Mauzie our dental therapy dog who sits on the laps of our patients to bring them comfort.
